Exhibition:GAME ON!
Game On!, is an exhibition about our
passion for sport and how it has defined our individual and
collective identities. Throughout history, the world of
games —with its inversions of mastery, dependence on chance
and reliance on both verbal and physical play—has intrigued
and inspired visual artists. Game On! presents works by
contemporary artists who take a reflective, critical or
inspired look at sport and how we play the game. Addressing
issues of identity, power, heroism, nostalgia, popular
culture and gender, Game On! highlights a variety of media
that reminds us that within every ruled system, there
exists potential for creativity and exploration. Shown
through September 4.

America to Zanzibar – explores the world
of Muslin art. Children can explore ancient trade routes on
a two story Indian Ocean dhow (boat) or on a camel. They’ll
thrill to the excitement of a global market place as they
pretend to buy, sell and trade fruit, fish, spice, ceramic,
textiles, and rugs. The exhibit environment is rich with
art, architecture and design elements from across the
globe. Children and adults alike will marvel at a 3D
exploration of mosque architecture from the Maldives to
China. Original works by emerging American Muslim artists
join traditional art forms including intricately designed
tiles, ornate ceramics, and complex patterned rugs. There’s
even an interactive replica/interpretation of a Pakistani
truck, recognized as a “moving work of art” for children to
decorate. ----------------------------------------------------------

The Titanosaur Exhibit – this Museum is
known for dazzling generations of young people with their
collection of dinosaurs and their newest addition will
bring even more excitement. In January 2016, the Museum
added another must-see exhibit to its world-famous fossil
halls: a cast of a 122-foot-long dinosaur. This species is
so new that it has not yet been formally named by the
paleontologists who discovered it. Paleontologists suggest
this dinosaur, a giant herbivore that belongs to a group
known as titanosaurs, weighed in at around 70 tons. The
species lived in the forests of today’s Patagonia about 100
to 95 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous period,
and is one of the largest dinosaurs ever discovered. The
new, much larger occupant grazes the gallery’s
approximately 19-foot-high ceilings, and, at 122-foot, is
just a bit too long for its new home. Instead, its neck and
head extend out towards the elevator banks, welcoming
visitors to the “dinosaur” floor. At the Milstein Hall of
Ocean Life.

Willems, a rollicking journey across a career that started

Art and Whimsy of Mo Willems exhibition brings together
original art, sketches, and inspirational drawings from
Willem's most popular series, plus stand-alone classics
such as Leonardo the Terrible Monster and That is NOT a
Good Idea!. It displays the efforts behind the
effortlessness, the seriousness behind the silliness, and
the desire, as Willems says, “to think of my audience, not
for my audience.” His ability to crisply weave together
life lessons and humor creates artful volumes that speak to
all, regardless of size. Special family events include:

Babe Ruth. Mickey Mantle. Twenty-seven World Series
championships. The Yankees may be the most storied
franchise in sports. In 2009, the Bronx Bombers continued
that winning tradition by claiming a World Series in their

New York's National League baseball team has experienced
lows (a dismal 1962 debut campaign), highs (the 1969
"Miracle Mets" and the dominant 1986 squad) and everything
in between. Mets fans recently welcomed a new era in
state-of-the-art Citi Field, which echoes the design of
Ebbets Field while also paying tribute to the team's Polo

The Brooklyn Cyclones, the New York Mets' Class A minor
league club, play in picturesque MCU Park—about an hour's
subway ride from Midtown Manhattan. Situated in Coney
Island, close to the ocean and local attractions like
Deno's Wonder Wheel and Luna Park, the smell of salt air
permeates the stadium. During night games, neon-colored
fluorescent rings circling the ballpark's stadium lights
lend a carnivalesque atmosphere to the setting. In the
distance beyond the left field wall, fans can see the
Cyclone roller coaster (the team's namesake) slowly rise
and suddenly plunge on its first terrifying drop. The
on-field competition of scrappy, hardworking ballplayers
hearkens back to the good ol' days of Brooklyn baseball—as
does the intimate setting, where the team can hear what
fans yell out from the stands.
