Weather or Not, That is the
Question - an exhibition about the power, mystery,
and grandeur of weather and its impact on our environment.
From early religious texts, to Farmers’ Almanacs, weather
tracking apps, and daily conversation, extreme weather has
captivated human interest and conversation. We continue to
be awed and intrigued by phenomenon such as record-breaking
snowfall, earthquakes, tsunamis, tornados and hurricanes.
With the words “global warming” and “climate change” never
far from the headlines, artists tie together the scientific
and creative worlds in acts of beauty and activism.
Exhibiting Artists: Kim Abeles, Matthew Albanese, Suzanne
Anker, Blane De St. Croix, Sandy Gellis, Nathalie Miebach,
Nnenna Okore, and Virginia Wagner explore art’s ability to
make environmentalism a priority and bring climate
initiatives to the forefront of cultural conversations.

The Titanosaur Exhibit – this Museum is
known for dazzling generations of young people with their
collection of dinosaurs and their newest addition will
bring even more excitement. In January 2016, the Museum
added another must-see exhibit to its world-famous fossil
halls: a cast of a 122-foot-long dinosaur. This species is
so new that it has not yet been formally named by the
paleontologists who discovered it. Paleontologists suggest
this dinosaur, a giant herbivore that belongs to a group
known as titanosaurs, weighed in at around 70 tons. The
species lived in the forests of today’s Patagonia about 100
to 95 million years ago, during the Late Cretaceous period,
and is one of the largest dinosaurs ever discovered. The
new, much larger occupant grazes the gallery’s
approximately 19-foot-high ceilings, and, at 122-foot, is
just a bit too long for its new home. Instead, its neck and
head extend out towards the elevator banks, welcoming
visitors to the “dinosaur” floor. At the Milstein Hall of
Ocean Life.

Babe Ruth. Mickey Mantle. Twenty-seven World Series
championships. The Yankees may be the most storied
franchise in sports. In 2009, the Bronx Bombers continued
that winning tradition by claiming a World Series in their
new, state-of-the-art stadium—just as they did back in

New York's National League baseball team has experienced
lows (a dismal 1962 debut campaign), highs (the 1969
"Miracle Mets" and the dominant 1986 squad) and everything
in between. Mets fans recently welcomed a new era in
state-of-the-art Citi Field, which echoes the design of
Ebbets Field while also paying tribute to the team's Polo

The Brooklyn Cyclones, the New York Mets' Class A minor
league club, play in picturesque MCU Park—about an hour's
subway ride from Midtown Manhattan. Situated in Coney
Island, close to the ocean and local attractions like
Deno's Wonder Wheel and Luna Park, the smell of salt air
permeates the stadium. During night games, neon-colored
fluorescent rings circling the ballpark's stadium lights
lend a carnivalesque atmosphere to the setting. In the
distance beyond the left field wall, fans can see the
Cyclone roller coaster (the team's namesake) slowly rise
and suddenly plunge on its first terrifying drop. The
on-field competition of scrappy, hardworking ballplayers
hearkens back to the good ol' days of Brooklyn baseball—as
does the intimate setting, where the team can hear what
fans yell out from the stands.
